Ron Larimar Peated Cask Finish - Dominican Republic Rum

The Caribbean – for centuries a trading hub and source of exotic delicacies, like rum. During the long voyages back to the European mainland, it was discovered that the sugarcane distillate changed and developed in exciting ways even in the cooler continental climate.

This realization is the inspiration for Ron Larimar. Named after the Dominican gemstone Larimar, this series sees a soft, mild rum from the Dominican Republic embark on a journey that takes it to Scotland, where it matures in various cask types. This is how the Ron Larimar Cask Finished Rums were created.

The cask expertise of Scottish whiskymakers meets Caribbean rum in four different bottlings. Ron Larimar with Bourbon Cask Finish developed its creamy vanilla and milk chocolate notes in American oak casks and Kentucky Bourbon Barrels. In contrast, fruit, coconut, and a hint of peat smoke characterize Ron Larimar Peated Single Malt Cask Finish.

Completing its maturation in sherry casks is, on the one hand, Ron Larimar Oloroso Sherry Cask Finish with its aromas of dried fruits and caramel, and on the other hand, Ron Larimar, which matured further in sweeter Pedro Ximénez Sherry Casks.

The 5-year-old rum promises aromas such as sweet figs and chocolate-covered raisins.
