Islay – Heart of Peat, Campbeltown & Arran

05.02.2027 – 20.02.2027

This trip is not for ordinary tourists – it's an intense experience for all senses. A journey into the heart of smoke and peat, to where whisky is not just a drink, but a way of life. Welcome to Islay – the Queen of the Hebrides.

An exclusive adventure begins

In a small, personal group of a maximum of eight guests, your journey begins relaxed with doorstep pickup (in Saxony and Thuringia, otherwise by arrangement). Together we travel to Amsterdam, where we board the ferry.

The adventure begins with a lavish dinner buffet and views of the open sea. The next morning we arrive in Newcastle and head west – our destination: one of the world's most legendary whisky regions.

Islay – The Isle of Smoke

We take the ferry to Islay. Even upon arrival, the scent of peat and sea hangs in the air. In February, the island reveals its calm, original side – far from the hustle and bustle, intense and authentic.

In the coming days, we will visit eight of Islay's most famous distilleries – each with its own unique character:

  • Laphroaig

  • Lagavulin

  • Bowmore

  • Caol Ila

  • Kilchoman

  • Ardbeg

  • Bunnahabhain

  • Ardnahoe

During exclusive tours and tastings, you will delve deep into the world of smoky whiskies. Between visits, there will be time to explore the island – such as the towns of Port Ellen and Bowmore, which captivate with their special charm.

Arran – Diversity in a small space

After intense days on Islay, the journey continues to the Isle of Arran – often referred to as "Scotland in miniature."

Here you can expect impressive landscapes, mystical places, and an exciting whisky tradition. We will explore the mysterious Machrie Moor and visit both the Lochranza Distillery and the modern Lagg Distillery – two distilleries that could hardly be more different.

Campbeltown – The forgotten whisky capital

Our next stop takes us to the Kintyre Peninsula to Campbeltown – once the center of Scottish whisky production. Today, the region is smaller but all the more characterful.

Here we visit the traditional distilleries Springbank and Glen Scotia. A special highlight is the evening at the Ardshiel Hotel – known for its impressive whisky bar and excellent cuisine, especially fresh seafood.

Comfort, enjoyment, and perfect organization

Throughout the entire trip, you will enjoy the highest comfort: overnight stays with breakfast are included, as are all ferry crossings, distillery visits, tastings, and entrance fees.

Your well-being is also taken care of on the bus – drinks are available free of charge, so you can fully concentrate on the experience.
